Auditory tests were administered to 30 blind, partially sighted, and sighted children. Overall, the blind and sighted were equal on most of the measured abilities. Blind children performed well on tonal memory tests. Partially sighted children performed more poorly than the other two groups. (MH)

Results from correlated multiple-group component analyses of the Revised Illinois Test of Psycholinguistic Abilities (ITPA) subtests were given. Intercorrelations for each age group in the standardization sample provided strong support for the theoretical model underlying the Revised ITPA. (Author/MH)

The Test of Standard Written English was found to be nearly as valid as the California State University and Colleges English Placement Test, while requiring one-fifth of the time. Both tests were more valid than the Scholastic Aptitude Test-Verbal in predicting English composition grades. (JKS)

Teacher interactions with second-grade students were coded to investigate sex differences in children's reading and mathematics performance. Mirror-image animal and nonanimal words of three to six letters were presented to subjects in a reaction time categorization task. The internal-external locus of control scales of Rotter and Levenson and the Marlowe-Crowne Social Desirability Scale were completed by 156 undergraduates. The three-factor structure underlying Levenson's questionnaire was clearly confirmed. Some new evidence for the multidimensionality of Rotter's scale was also presented. (Author/GDC)

Records of students in an honors program at Marquette University revealed that the College Board Scholastic Aptitude Test verbal and mathematics scores were moderately predictive for all honors students. Only the mathematics score was predictive of program success for women. (Author/JKS)
