This paper describes characteristics of creatively gifted children and explains why new procedures are necessary to identify creative children with exogenous behavior disorders. Seventeen children ranging in age from 9 to 15 years and from grades four and eight in five classes for students with emotional conflicts were placed on a video game reward system. A case study to determine the extent to which teacher decisions about students are influenced by teacher tolerance for students' behavioral characteristics revealed that teacher tolerances affected the ratings of an immature elementary student but not the ratings of an unmanageable elementary student, who was viewed more negatively overall.
