Comparisons with appraisals by supervisors, peers, and subordinates suggest that self-appraisals show more leniency, less variability, and less discriminant validity. Self-appraisals show less halo. A regression equation incorporating grade point average (GPA), calculus grade, and grades in two sections of the Pharmacy College Admission Test was significantly more useful than using GPA alone.
