van der Meer, Jacques; Scott, Carole – Australasian Journal of Peer Learning, 2009
Much research has been done on the effectiveness of Supplemental Instruction programs, (Peer Assisted Study Sessions, PASS, in Australasia). Less research has emerged on on students' reasons for participating in PASS and their perceptions of the effectiveness of the program. In this article, we will report on a small improvement-focused research…

Newton, Paul E. – Educational Research, 2009
Background: National curriculum tests have been administered in England for well over a decade. Although reliability evidence has been published, critics have argued that there is not enough evidence (of the right kind) and that test results may be insufficiently reliable. Purpose: This article collates and discusses evidence on the reliability of…

Wang, Shun-Mei – Applied Environmental Education and Communication, 2009
The purpose of this research is to develop a performance evaluation instrument for green schools in Taiwan. The instrument is designed according to three sets of criteria: participation and partnership, reflection and learning, and ecological consideration. It also covers three operational dimensions: learning context, administration, and…

Ketelaars, Mieke P.; Cuperus, Juliane M.; van Daal, John; Jansonius, Kino; Verhoeven, Ludo – Research in Developmental Disabilities: A Multidisciplinary Journal, 2009
The present study examines the validity of the Dutch Children's Communication Checklist (CCC) for children in kindergarten in a community sample, in order to assess the feasibility of using it as a screening instrument in the general population. Teachers completed the CCC for a representative sample of 1396 children at kindergarten level, taken…

Feldt, Leonard S. – Psychometrika, 1975
In some situations where reliability must be estimated it is impossible to divide the measuring instrument into more than two separately scoreable parts. In such a case, neither Cronbach's coefficient alpha nor Kristof's three-part approach are satisfactory. A technique is developed for estimating reliability in such situations. (Author/BJG)

Braun, John R.; Calandro, Patricia Asta – Journal of Personality Assessment, 1974
Compared Edwards Personality Inventory (EPI) reliability under the Edwards' instructions (subject responds to the items as he believes those who know him best would answer if asked to describe him) versus the more conventional instructions (to describe yourself directly as you see yourself). Pikas, Anatol – Scandinavian Journal of Educational Research, 1975
Article attempted to define the concept of mobbing and to develop principles of treatment in connection with cases which really occur, and to use the work in a regular university course providing students with successful personal therapeutic experiences. (Author/RK)

Eason, Sandra H. – 1989
Generalizability theory provides a technique for accurately estimating the reliability of measurements. The power of this theory is based on the simultaneous analysis of multiple sources of error variances. Equally important, generalizability theory considers relationships among the sources of measurement error. Just as multivariate inferential…

Rosenzweig, Saul; And Others – Journal of Personality Assessment, 1975
The research dealing with the reliability of the Rosenzweig Picture-Frustration Study is surveyed. Analysis of various split-half, and retest procedures are reviewed and their relative effectiveness evaluated. Reliability measures as applied to projective techniques in general are discussed. Kaiser, Henry F.; Michael, William B. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1975
An alternative derivation of Tryon's basic formula for the coefficient of domain validity or the coefficient of generalizability developed by Cronbach, Rajaratnam, and Glaser is provided. This derivation, which is also the generalized Kuder-Richardson coefficient, requires a relatively minimal number of assumptions compared with that in previously…

Robertson, Gary J. – 1981
Some fundamental concepts of criterion referenced test (CRT) reliability are highlighted. Emphasis is given to the procedures for determining reliability of scores for individual pupils because this is an area requiring increased awareness by classroom teachers and practitioners. Reliability issues encountered in the evaluation of instructional…
