It is argued that second-language classroom communication is often limited by the lack of instructor use of tonic pronouns. Two uses of the pronoun form that should be used from the beginning of the second-language program to promote authentic communication are described. (MSE)

The Canfield Learning Style Inventory was used to determine 104 physical education majors' learning styles. Study results showed that the subjects, as a group, preferred (1) a formal learning environment; (2) learning experiences involving heavy use of media; and (3) learning through "hands on" experience. Factor analysis yielded six scales for identifying approaches to lecturing, and subsequent cluster analysis yielded five distinctive types of lecturer's styles.
