Shimizu, Kazuaki; And Others – Journal of Vocational Behavior, 1988
Examined factor structure of Career Decision Scale (CDS), comparing findings of seven factor analytic studies. Conducted new factor analytic study of CDS designed to avoid methodological problems of earlier studies, using 698 secondary school students as subjects. Results suggest "Simple" model of CDS factor structure could be derived…

Isonio, Steven A.; Garza, Raymond T. – Hispanic Journal of Behavioral Sciences, 1987
The cross-cultural appropriateness of the Mirels and Garrett (1971) Protestant Work Ethic Scale was assessed by comparing the factor structures of Anglo American, Chicano, and Mexican samples. Full scale comparisons indicated endorsement in the following order: Mexicans, Chicanos, and Anglo Americans. Cultural differences in orientation towards…

Alexander, Douglas G.; Engin, Ann W. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1986
The Survey of Reading Attitudes-Primary Level was administered orally to 269 first-grade, 240 second-grade, and 236 third-grade students. The responses were factored separately by grade using a principal factor method with varimax rotation. The results provided evidence for the multidimensionality of primary students' reading attitudes. (LMO)

Marsh, Herbert W. – Journal of Educational Measurement, 1987
This investigation tested the ability of an a priori hierarchical structure of self-concept derived from the Shavelson model to explain responses to the Self Description Questionnaire (SDQ) III, and demonstrated the application and problems with the use of hierarchical confirmatory factor analysis (HCFA). Savickas, Mark L. – Journal of Vocational Behavior, 1985
A measure of specialty indecision was administered to 567 medical students along with measures of vocational development and exploratory behavior. Initial evaluation of the psychometric properties of the Specialty Indecision Scale indicate that it is internally consistent, relates more to specialty choice than to career choice, and inversely…

Neeper, Ronald; Lahey, Benjamin B. – School Psychology Review, 1986
A factor analysis of a revised and expanded 102-item version of the Children's Behavior Scale (CBRS) was conducted to complete development of this teacher rating scale. Results confirmed previous research on the CBRS that indicated that two independent dimensions of cognitive deficits can be identified in teacher ratings. (Author/LMO)

Neeper, Ronald; Laskey, Benjamin B. – School Psychology Review, 1984
Over 600 children were rated on 60 items describing a broad range of cognitive deficits, inappropriate behavior, and positive social behavior. A principal components analysis yielded five factors: conduct problems, anxiety-depression, social competence, attention deficits and impulsivity, and deficits in language processing and memory. Marsh, Herbert W.; And Others – Journal of Educational Psychology, 1984
Factor analyses of responses to the Self-Description Questionnaire (SDQ) by children in grades two to five clearly identified the seven SDQ factors, and correlations among these factors were consistent with Shavelson's model. The results also suggest that these factors become more distinct with age. (Author/BW)

Reynolds, Cecil R.; Harding, Richard E. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1983
Six methods of measuring factorial similarity were compared with regard to outcome based on two large data sets, one for an intelligence test and the other for a personality test. All indexes yielded comparable results. Comparing factors determined at random, all indexes yielded comparable results leading to a conclusion of dissimilarity.…

Veit, Clairice T.; Ware, John E. – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1983
Described the development of the Mental Health Inventory, a measure of psychological distress and well-being, which was fielded in four large samples having different characteristics (N=5,089). Meara, Kevin; Sireci, Stephen G. – 2000
To provide a better understanding of the structure of the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) and to determine if there are structural differences across selected groups of MCAT examinees, several dimensionality analyses were conducted on data from recent administrations of the MCAT. The first set of analyses focused on the global structure of…
