Investigated the factor structure of the McCarthy Screening Test with a sample of 555 children. Data were analyzed by a principal components analysis followed by a varimax rotation. This investigation ascertains whether the empirical factor dimensions underlying the revised Evaluation of Counselors Scale (EOC-R) for student clients of a university counseling center matched a previous sample. This study compared double cross-validation replication predictive accuracies of six types of factor scores with full-rank data by utilizing data in which classroom achievement was predicted from affective and cognitive variables. The Screening Test of Academic Readiness (STAR) was administered to three samples of kindergarten pupils. A series of factor analyses was performed to determine whether the STAR could be used for individualized diagnosis and remediation. Structure and construct validity of the California Preschool Social Competency Scale was investigated.
