Assessed undergraduate and graduate students' level of curiosity and intrinsic motivation. Few differences were found among the undergraduates, but they differed noticeably from the graduates in their motivational patterns. Differences are discussed in terms of motivational determinants. (Author)

Investigated the effect of locus of control on vocational maturity in a sample of Canadian high school students (N=700). Internal personalities scored higher than externals on various vocational maturity aspects. Found developmental aspects of Super's theory of adolescent vocational behavior largely substantiated. Analyzed attitudes toward persons 65 years or older. Found five factors used by both young and older groups to describe the social image of the older person: integrity, fortitude, social appeal, dependability, and open-mindedness. Children at the Louisiana State School for the Deaf were tested for motor proficiency using the Short Form of the Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency. Interviewed urban, Black respondents (N=122), aged 51 to 90, about their religious practices and beliefs. Results were analyzed using a multidimensional scale. Religiosity did not appear to vary with age but church membership did. Women had higher scores than men. Religiosity was positively related to life satisfaction. (Author)

Interviewed randomly selected custodial parents (N=206). Custodial parents also completed a social adjustment scale on the criterion measure of children's adjustment. Specific comparisons for a categorized set of items indicated that recall of detailed drawings and outlines was superior to recall of words. For an uncategorized set, outlines were recalled significantly better than pictures and both were recalled better than words. (Author/PN)
