Using the Least Preferred Coworker Scale (LPC), determines that Black and White federal work supervisors are different in their attitudes towards coworkers. Black supervisors measure task-dimension factors; White supervisors measure interpersonal dimension factors. The significance of these results is discussed. (BJV)

Results of three studies provide considerable support for the importance, existence, and the normative adequacy of the cognitive process of "second guessing."
