Studied the perceptions of college students (N=247) regarding male and female career development using a forced choice questionnaire. The variance in earned credit rates in an urban community college system was examined. An ANOVA design was employed to estimate the effects of four variables: college, department, course, and teacher. Analyzed longitudinal data covering six years for transfer student (N=3,407) performance and degree completion. Results showed that: (1) transfer students completed degrees as often as nontransfers; (2) junior college transfers performed less well than other groups; and (3) sex and ethnicity related to performance and retention.
