Evaluated the "Cassel Type-A Personality Assessment (TAP)" for identifying Type-A prone individuals (N=110). Factor scores were computed and analyzed by a discriminant analysis which resulted in an overall accuracy of prediction of 95.5 percent of the original group members. (Author/BL)

An investigation of the predictive validity of the STAR (Screening Test for Academic Readiness) with 74 students referred for assessment revealed that prekindergarten STAR scores significantly predicted verbal performance and full scale IQ scores on the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised obtained several years later. The internal consistency and validity of three new scales for measuring assertiveness in children were tested. Two of the scales were able to "unbind" aggressive from assertive behavior, while the third was able to "unbind" submissive from assertive behavior. Administered three Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) family scales and three criterion family scales to undergraduates (N=110). Computed correlations between the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R) and the Woodcock-Johnson Tests of Cognitive Abilities (WJTCA) in behavior disordered male adolescents (N=100).
