A large class that must share one computer can still get the benefits of adventure/simulation software if students work in small groups. Teamwork stimulates sharing and cooperation. Parameter recovery in the graded-response model was investigated using the MULTILOG computer program under default conditions. Results from 36 simulated data sets suggest that at least 500 examinees are needed to achieve adequate calibration under the graded model. The effects of limiting the availability of immediate feedback while using LOGO were studied for 48 students aged 9 to 11 solving rotation problems. Limiting feedback reduced the incidence of trial and error strategies, and higher level problem solving strategies were apparently used to compensate for the restricted feedback access. (SLD)
