Nine mentally retarded mothers received group training in decision making using vignettes describing child raising situations. Significant changes in identification of decision-making steps and their application were observed and maintained for a month after training for both types of vignettes. (Author/DB)

Describes the use of the jigsaw teaching technique (which requires each member of a small group to provide a key piece of information) in undergraduate psychology laboratory and discussion classes. Assessed the nature of change over time in the family environment of 93 parents attending Adlerian parent education groups. Results suggested that overall, parents became more democratic from pretest to posttest, with a significant change in cohesion.
