The School of Veterinary Medicine at Tuskegee Institute was established to serve the educational needs of Blacks in this profession, and represented the beginning of the third phase in the evolution of veterinary medical education in this country. A five-year longitudinal study was designed to find the best predictors of academic success in veterinary school at Kansas State University and to set up a multiple regression formula to be used in selecting students. The preveterinary grade point average was found to be the best predictor. (JMD)
