Discusses two problems related to the use of online catalogs: (1) staff training has not kept pace with new catalogs, resulting in a lack of search expertise in staff and patrons; and (2) users expect instant access to materials found in the catalog. This study compared the levels and types of errors found in an existing card catalog and a newly created online catalog.
