Forty five-year-olds compared two arms of an L-shaped figure on-axis or perpendicular to axis inside circles of different diameters. In making perceptual judgments about the relative length, the children tended to describe the on-axis line as longer. The context model of visual anomalies was supported. (Author/CM)

A questionnaire containing objectively scored measures of migration history, educational attainment, sex-role traditionalism, assertiveness, and symptoms of mental and physical illness was completed by 278 Puerto Rican women (aged 18-55) living in New York City. As hypothesized, sex-role traditionalism correlated negatively with symptoms. (Author)

This study sought to determine whether there exist performance distinctions between artists and nonartists on specific two- and three-dimensional nonverbal problems. Sixty college students, representing three of Kohlberg's moral judgment stages, were exposed to a compliance situation. Self-awareness was experimentally increased in 30 subjects. Those in moral stages 3 and 4 complied significantly more than stage 5 subjects. Results are discussed in terms of a cognition-behavior relationship. (Author/SJL)
