Margolin, Gayla; And Others – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1983
Examines psychometric and normative questions related to the Areas of Change Questionnaire (AC) for 163 couples. Results offered support for the AC as a measure of overall marital adjustment, revealed differences according to sex and distress, and found that length of marriage influenced actual and perceived requests for change. Thauberger, P. C.; Cleland, J. F. – Saskatchewan Journal of Educational Research and Development, 1976
Three groupings of research participants totalling 52 individuals were given questionnaires comprising over 400 items; data were analyzed in terms of the optimal numbers of items individuals felt they could answer with interest and compared with other data to determine if a satiation factor were operative. (JC)

Laux, John M.; Newman, Isadore; Brown, Russ – 2002
The Michigan Alcoholism Screening Test (MAST) was designed to serve as a reliable and quantifiable measure of alcohol dependence (M. Selzer, 1971). Since its introduction, the psychometric properties of the MAST have been studied extensively, but there are several questions that have not been addressed or only partially answered. The purpose of…

Johnson, William L.; Wiens, Scott A.; Johnson, Annabel M. – 2001
This paper details the development and psychometric analysis of an instrument used for workshop evaluation. The instrument was designed to assess the effectiveness of the workshops, the instructors conducting the workshop training, and the training materials. The instrument used a Likert agree/disagree format. A psychometric analysis of scores…

Krishnan, T. – Psychometrika, 1973
Scores on different items of a test are often combined linearly (sometimes with equal weights) to form the test score, mainly for the sake of computational convenience. In this paper, the author studies the consequences of doing this, and also studies the problems involved in finding a suitable linear combination. (Author/RK)

Davidson, John – Psychometrika, 1973
The present paper generalizes the results obtained by Davidson (1972) for nondegenerate stimulus configurations. (Author)

Dunn, James E. – Psychometrika, 1973
A counterexample is produced to a conjecture by K. G. Joreskog concerning sufficiency conditions for uniqueness of a restricted factor matrix. A substitute condition is stated and proved for the most common situation where the restricted elements are specified to be zero. (Author)

McQuitty, Louis L. – Educ Psychol Meas, 1970
A method is developed and illustrated which relaxes the principle of reciprocity in relation to characteristics of data and classifies in terms of successive levels of reciprocity, using two versions: (a) successive linkages, and (b) core assignments. (Author/RF)

Bentler, P. M. – Educ Psychol Meas, 1970
Factor analysis of artificial data is shown to yield an incorrect number of dimensions, seven, while monotonicity analysis recovered completely and accurately the fact that the data was generated from two latent dimensions. (RF)

Wechsler, David – Contemporary Educational Psychology, 1981
The author provides an historical review of how he came to construct the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS). Concepts underlying the WAIS are related to prior work in psychometrics. (RD)

Dziuban, Charles D.; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1979
The distributional characteristics of Kaiser's Measure of Sampling Adequacy (MSA) were investigated in sample matrices generated from multivariate normal populations of specified correlation levels. Systematic variation of sample size and number of variables revealed the overall MSA to be most influenced by the number of variables. (Author/JKS)

Dimitrov, Dimiter M. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 2002
Discusses reliability issues in light of recent studies and debates focused on psychometrics versus datametrics terminology and reliabilities generalization. Discusses the way multiple perspectives on score reliability may affect research practice, editorial policies, and reliability generalization across studies. (SLD)
