It is proposed that the French press reflects and characterizes the variety of cultures of France and that sociological study can benefit from close examination of newspaper journalism. Two themes for study are proposed: current preoccupation with security, and the French portrayal of foreigners. (MSE)

Experiences concerning the health attitudes, conditions, beliefs, and needs of Indochinese refugees settling in Linda Vista, California are related. It is noted that, while the Indochinese have much to learn about western standards, Americans must learn about the Indochinese to be able to help them. (CJ)
