A new model is proposed for explaining children's performance on Pascual-Leone's test of M-space. The new model is used to generate theoretical performance curves for children at four different age levels and seven different levels of stimulus complexity, and it is a viable alternative. Three groups of 20 fourth-grade children differing in imitation level were given embedded figures, locus of control, central-incidental and matching familiar figures tasks and tests. Results appear to show a relationship between imitation and selective attention but not with other aspects of cognitive style. (RH)

The Selected Marker Tests were examined for scoring problems and internal consistency and were administered orally to sixth and seventh graders. Scoring problems were discovered and changes were suggested. The problem was found to be item reliability rather than interrater reliability. (Author/MH)
