Studied changes in college students' perceptions of college environment after 4, 10, and 14 years. Findings indicated freshmen intensified the strength of their perceptions concerning academic excellence after four years. The need for the tertiary college, a post-16 institution offering a wide range of vocational and nonvocational, full-time, part-time and sandwich courses in preparation for work, leisure or higher education, is advocated. In general they do not perceive the college environment to be supportive or to encourage personal development.
