Four recent sources of classroom activities written by and for Logo teachers for use with young children are listed, and seven brief lesson plans suitable for introducing first-grade pupils to Logo are provided. Several educational computer games are included. (EAO)

Discussed is the use of the book Flatland, written by Edwin Abbott, as a novel assigned for reading in secondary school geometry. The assignment is largely designed to reverse the low student interest in geometry. It is noted that overall the book was well received by students. (MP)

As a lesson in responsibility and parenting, junior high school students were given eggs as their "children" and told to care for them for two weeks. Students also participated in various small group projects studying the characteristics and needs of three year olds. (SJL)

Describes a program for 8 to 11 year old gifted children involving one-half day of Spanish and one-half day of science twice a week. Discusses in detail lesson plans, instructional materials, and activities designed to provide the children with an experience of the Spanish culture and way of life. (MES)

Using a ceramics unit, the author illustrates ways of incorporating the following reading skills into an art lesson: following directions; pronunciation, spelling, and vocabulary development; interpreting illustrations; using reference books and materials; notetaking; and skimming. (SJL)

Presented are two visual aids, the Lesson Plan Tree and the Interdisciplinary Planning Wheel, which can serve as a framework and reference for student and teacher cooperative planning of an interdisciplinary studies unit.
