Factors which cause stress in foreign students attending American schools are identified and discussed (language, social mores, sex roles, religion, class consciousness, education background, family nativism). Warning signs of stress and preventive measures are also addressed. (DC)

The desirability of international education is emphasized. The roots of many current problems have international dimensions, and the search for the solution must be sought at that level. One way to add international literacy into a curriculum is to introduce international perspectives into existing courses. (MLW)
