Examined post-high school occupational attainment of 45 students who participated in an experiment in voluntary urban-suburban school busing. A survey of the 928 1979-80 English doctorate recipients revealed that 62% had full-time teaching positions, although only 45% of males and 37% of females received full-time tenure track positions; 11% had part-time teaching appointments or postdoctoral fellowships; and 13% had alternative work.
