In response to primary students' pleas to learn more about the environment during the current climate crisis, St. Bernadette's Catholic Primary School in Birmingham has helped children investigate issues related to climate change and address ways each person can help to heal the imbalance between humans and the natural world. In this article, Catherine Corkery describes how St. Bernadette's environmental education journey began five years ago as well as their celebrations of World Ocean Day and World Earth Day. Lastly, she describes how they delivered a day on Ocean Literacy using primary learning resources and exercises from the Marine Conservation Society website.
