A Qualitative Research on the Technology School Administration Interaction

School administration interaction with technology is increasing day by day. In light of new developments, school administration interaction with technology needs to be understood. The aim of this research is to understand the interaction between school administration and technology. Twenty-one school administrators participated in this qualitative research. The general benefits of technology on school administration are stated in the relevant literature; however, technology has many effects on school administration. The present study offers a different perspective. Two themes emerged in the research: school administration interaction with technology and areas where school administrators benefit from technology. Technology contributes to school administration by making processes easier, increasing efficiency, saving paper, and preserving data. However, the use of technology also brings some negatives, such as health problems. Regardless, the effects of technology use inevitably bring about school administrators being technologically literate. Technology affects school administration in individual, temporal, organizational, and structural ways, depending on the use. As a result of the research, it is recommended that ways of using technology more effectively in school administrations be sought.
