Findings indicate that high-risk infants are not exposed to greater exogenous stress during the prenatal and perinatal periods, although subsequent caregiving provided by disturbed mothers may not be optimal. Assessed the effectiveness of a stress management program for nursing students. The stress management group effectively reduced trait anxiety and showed a reduction in state (test-taking) anxiety from mid-semester to final examinations, while the control group showed a slight increase. (Author)

An ecosystem approach to the management of dysfunctional stress in a medical education setting is described. Students described the major stressors as information-input overload, shortage of time, inadequate feedback regarding performance, and poor quality of interpersonal relationships.
