When high anxious mothers administered tasks to their children, they facilitated the task performance of their daughters but were strongly detrimental to that of their sons. Low anxious mothers chose more difficult tasks for sons than for daughters, and they facilitated the task performance of sons more than that of daughters. (Authors/RY)

Careful examination of the decision-making process is suggested since resulting judgments and implications are rarely scrutinized. (CK)

Presents an opinion survey developed to assess residence hall students' opinions and as a model of comprehensive student-based research. Discusses random sample selection, survey implementation, and data analysis. Results of the survey indicated significant sex differences in attitudes about resident assistants, housekeeping, and drinking. (RC)

A model is proposed for gathering information about staff development efforts conducted by schools of education. The model can be used to evaluate staff development undertakings, report significant data, and help other institutions design comparable programs. (PP)

Presented is an approach to causal models in which some or all variables are discretely measured, showing that path analytic methods permit quantification of causal relationships among variables with the same flexibility and power of interpretation as is feasible in models including only continuous variables.
