Studied level of congruence between personality type of subjects and modal personality type in their environment. Results showed modal personality type of males and females was not similar; correlation was high for congruence level and inclination to remain in an environment and low for congruence level and social acceptance. Research involving adolescent identification with and development of sex roles is reviewed in the areas of cognitive skills and personality traits, theories of sex role development, and minority group adolescent sex role development. Compared changes in students (N=33) who took a traditional psychology course or an experimental course which included personal growth experiences as well as didactic material. Investigated the possible use of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-168 as a screening instrument for identifying individuals (N=27) with borderline personality disorders. Profiled adult first offender Texas shoplifters (N=94). Results indicated that the modal shoplifter is female, Hispanic, and has a poor self-concept. Males tend to act more impulsively than females in shoplifting style, and shoplifters tend to be anxious, depressed, and self-doubting. (WAS)

A sample of 98 adolescents completed the Loneliness Questionnaire and provided information about themselves. The results revealed no significant differences with regard to individual demographic variables. Used a simulated collective bargaining game characterized by interaction between bargaining teams to investigate effects of team locus of control on aspiration and bargaining outcomes. Results showed female students (N=90) rated masculine role descriptions less favorably than female or androgynous descriptions regardless of gender ascribed to the stimulus person.
