Reports research into the affective responses of 75 University of Iowa undergraduate students to situations varying in achievement outcome, task importance, and effort. Measures of memory for order were correlated with measures requiring mental manipulation, achievement, and aptitude using college and fifth grade students. Test scores on three pretest forms of a content-validated test were correlated with job performance ratings by social worker supervisors.
