A review of over a thousand studies that deal with either locus of control or levels of interpersonal functioning found no research that deals with both. This study is an initial exploration designed to discover any relationship between scores associated with measures of both locus and levels. (Author)

Students from Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Sweden and the United States were categorized by sex and country of origin and evaluated for belief in external control over their lives. The scale used was the Internal-External Locus of Control, devised by Rotter. (EK)

The Rotter Internal-External Locus of Control (I-E) Scale was used to evaluate male and female students in Eastern, Western and Middle Eastern societies. Results showed that Japanese students scored higher on external source control tests than students from other countries while Indian students scored lower on these tests. (EK)
