Campus Health "Is" Community Health
Rachel Mack1; Jason Marmon1; Andi Speedy1
About Campus, v30 n3 p48-51 2025
This article discusses the ways college health supports its communities' needs. The article's Bottom Line is that the positive reach of campus health stretches across student populations and sometimes beyond to impact learning, wellness, and thriving. The authors hope to spotlight how college health is embedded in the higher education world in powerful ways that they think otherwise could be easily overlooked. As many readers will have seen on their campuses, it is well-accepted that providing for students' physical, medical, and psychological needs and addressing public health is central to academic missions. One of the most logical steps forward would be to embrace college campus health and well-being care as important players in community health -- college is where emerging adults are.
