Scofield, Michael E.; Yoxtheimer, Linda L. – Journal of Counseling Psychology, 1983
Reviewed 149 studies which measured counselor or therapist competencies and examined them for evidence of the reliability and validity associated with the assessment instruments. Dew, Kathleen Michie Harriss; And Others – Journal of Counseling Psychology, 1983
Investigated the relationship of math anxiety to test anxiety in 769 college students. Booth, Alan; And Others – Journal of Marriage and the Family, 1983
Describes the development of a scale specifically designed to measure marital instability among intact couples. Gerson, Mary-Joan – Journal of Psychology, 1983
Describes the development of an Index of Parenthood Motivation (IPM) and reports results of two studies employing the index. Boodoo, Gwyneth M. – Journal of Educational Statistics, 1982
Incidence sampling is a parsimonious method whereby a large number of examinees can be measured on many variables (such as test items) to assess group characteristics. Parameters used to describe an incidence sample are estimated using the theory of generalized symmetric means and generalizability theory. (Author/JKS)

Asche, F. Marion – Journal of Industrial Teacher Education, 1983
This paper provides a review of two volumes of the "Journal of Industrial Teacher Education" and the "Journal of Vocational Education Research." One of the major findings of this review was that insufficient information was provided to make an informed judgment about internal validity. (SSH)

O'Reilly, Patrick A. – Journal of Industrial Teacher Education, 1983
Research manuscripts recently published in the "Journal of Industrial Teacher Education" (JITE) and the "Journal of Vocational Education Research" (JVER) were reviewed to determine how effectively external validity had been handled. The main issue of concern when discussing validity is the generalizability of findings. (SSH)

Dobson, C.B.; Alban Metcalfe, R.J. – British Journal of Educational Psychology, 1983

Greaner, Jackie L.; Penner, Louis A. – Social Behavior and Personality, 1982

Lewy, Arieh; And Others – Scottish Educational Review, 1982
Educational research would benefit if standards could be agreed for recording precisely what has been done in a research study, and if these records were available for scrutiny. Advantages claimed include better quality data, easier comparison with other studies, the possibility of analysis by others and greater credibility of findings. (BRR)
