The present investigation superimposed a group discussion process over a typical vocational counseling process in which the primary focus was on test information and over two atypical vocational counseling processes. Experimental research in counseling has been dominated by pretest-posttest designs. Mitchell's 1969 article on using an intensive design is analyzed.
