Consultants ranked teachers in their school consultation placements on ability to meet academic and socioemotional needs of children, receptivity to change, and likability. Results indicate that teachers most in need of assistance are not selected for consultation. (Author)

The WISC and WISC-R were administered to 20 Black psychiatric outpatients, ages 8 to 15. Scores revealed the two tests to be essentially different, with lower Verbal, Performance, and Full Scale IQs on the WISC-R. Order of administration, sex, and interest correlations were also examined. (Author/SJL)

A study of student interests, done in 1970, was replicated in 1977. The interest inventory is included, as is an analysis of the results. The author suggests that decision makers should be cautioned against eliminating all sex discrimination in schools, because student interests differ according to sex. (KC)

Seven autistic, seven Down's syndrome, and seven normal children of approximately the same mental age were trained on a single dimension, simultaneous match-to match problem. The results suggest that Down's syndrome, and not autistic children suffer from additional deficits. (Author/KC)

This study compared the performance on speed tests in depressed and nondepressed, nonschizophrenic, nonorganic psychiatric patients. The groups were matched for general psychopathology, sex, age, and education. The findings are discussed in relation to the literature. (Author/KC)

This paper reports a case study of the psychological correlates of students' adjustment to a small urban free school. Forty male and thirty female students voluntarily answered the New Morning Student Questionnaire and the Tennessee Self-Concept Scale. Results showed that students were psychologically well adjusted. A job interview skills workshop model was compared with the traditional lecture-discussion group approach. Results indicated the behavioral group made significant gains in percentage of eye contact. The discussion group was superior in ratings of ability and expression of feelings and personal opinions relevant to the interview. (Author)
