Compared Vocational Interest Inventory and Unisex versions of ACT Interest Inventory. Sex-restrictive results occurred. Women preferred Service and Artistic areas, and men Technical, Outdoor, and Scientific areas. Evaluations were made of 46 mentally retarded residents (mean age=18.32 years) in a central Ohio state institution using part one of the American Association on Mental Deficiency's Adaptive Behavior Scale. A significant overall setting effect was not revealed in the multivariate analysis of variance for repeated measures. (Author)

Teacher perceptions of students as influenced by differences in student gender are examined. Elementary school teachers' perceptions of students were assessed by their rating children in their classes on various dimensions. Development and validation of this measure follow the behavioral-analytic method described by Goldfried and D'Zurilla. The measure's three subscales correlate with peer and teacher reports of subjects' interpersonal behavior and have moderate split-half and test-retest reliabilities. (Author)

A study of 179 vocational-technical teachers at 14 vocational centers in Maryland concluded that teacher morale was related to the leader behavior of the principal. Teacher morale was significantly related to the principal's system orientation as well as his person orientation. (Author/BP)
