Lorr, Maurice; And Others – Journal of Personality Assessment, 1977
Factor analysis was used to measure the equivalence of the personality constructs measures by four different rationally devised inventories. The tests were administered to high school and college student samples. Twelve dimensions were found to be common to two or more inventories and consistent across the two samples. (Author/MV)

A study sought to identify student characteristics which account for academic achievement in clinical pharmacy courses. Preclinical grade point average was the best predictor. Subscales of the California Personality Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, work experience, sex, and age were the other predictor variables. (SW)

Community college students (N=31) took several personality tests and sex role questionnaires. Correlations among these instruments suggest that community college students in a conservative area who favor liberal sex roles tend to be loners, having a low opinion of both themselves and others. Sex and need for affiliation (n Aff) were investigated as potential moderators of the association between need for achievement (n Ach) and academic performance.
