Children's prejudice against the aged was studied in terms of their responses to an attitude scale and measures of their social interaction with aged compared to nonaged confederates. Several studies have suggested that screening decisions made by principals are biased by the age of teacher candidates. Graduating dental hygiene students' general attitudes toward the elderly and their perceptions of older adults as patients were found not to be equivalent.
