Members of a commune and members of a fraternity and a sorority were compared on measures of attitude and behavior. As predicted, commune residents demonstrated significantly more favorable attitudes toward non-traditional values. Also, the living arrangement of a commune may be more reinforcing toward within-group cooperation. (Author)

Maladjustment scores and frequency of use were unrelated; however, the very heaviest drug users were more maladjusted. Users also were more likely to have been in psychotherapy than nonusers. Very heavy marijuana users are, like alcoholics, in considerable psychological distress, whereas moderate users show no personality dysfunction. (Author)
