The results of the study indicated that dogmatism was not found to be related significantly to the four objective criteria of improvement during hospitalization. A tentative conclusion reached was that open mindedness" may contribute to level of improvement during hospitalization but has little relevance to success after discharge. (Author/CG)

This study on the effects of self monitoring on normal smoking behavior indicates that smoking frequency and duration are significantly affected by such self monitoring, indicating that self monitoring is a reactive data gathering procedure. (KJ)

Three experiments tested whether 12- to 24-month-old children showed systematic search, persistence, and/or end-screen search in the invisible-displacement task. A fourth study tested whether end-screen search resulted from seeing the experimenter move his hand through the series of screens. (RH)

Studies are reviewed that support the hypothesis that infantile autism results from a neuropathology of the temporal lobes of the brain. It is concluded that the main autistic symptoms are most consistent with a neurological model involving bilateral dysfunction of the temporal lobes. (Author)
