Reports on a study which attempted to determine whether an academic contingency system that successfully modified academic performance and on-task behavior of selected target children would also lead to vicarious academic or behavioral effects in non-target children. The personality profiles of nonathletes and baseball, football, and track team members were investigated as segmented types. The Personality Profile System found no differences in baseball players from nonathletes, and football players and track team members were more dominant and less patient than nonathletes. Compared the effects of cognitive-behavioral treatment, behavioral treatment or an attention-control condition on 27 non-self-controlled children.
