The relationships between teacher and student sex and sex role orientations and student ratings of course and instructor were studied. Androgynous teachers received higher evaluations than masculine or feminine counterparts. A teacher sex with student sex interaction was found as was a teacher sex with teacher sex role interaction. Reports a study showing that subjects can make discriminative judgments about a speaker's sex and race from his tape-recorded speech. Filtering the speech signal adversely affects race but not sex identification. Listener accuracy and confidence for sex judgments are greater than for race judgments. (PMJ)

In a sample of college students, self-related exploration was positively related to satisfaction with the occupational decision of low anxiety students and negatively related to satisfaction among high anxiety students. Previous work supports the hypothesis that cardioidal strain offers a plausible mathematical model for the perceived changes in human craniofacial morphology due to growth. In two experiments, cardioidal strain caused changes in the perceived age of nonhuman profiles similar to those produced on human faces in earlier work. (Author/MH)
