Roberts, J. Kyle; Henson, Robin K. – 2001
A promising new teacher self-efficacy instrument, the Ohio State Teacher Efficacy Scale (OSTES) (M. Tschannen-Moran and A. WoolfolkHoy, in press) was critically evaluated regarding its development and submitted to confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Participants were 183 inservice teachers in Texas and Washington, DC, most of whom taught primary…

Wallbrown, F. H.; And Others – British Journal of Educational Psychology, 1974
The purpose of the present study was to determine the ability organisation for adults of various ages through a hierarchial factor analysis of WAIS subtest intercorrelations for subjects from early adulthood through old age. (Author)

Richards, Herbert C.; McDermott, William F. – Developmental Psychology, 1973
Factors identified for middle-class youngsters were found to be remarkably similar to those generated by their lower-class counterparts. (Authors)

Tosi, Donald J.; Hoffman, Susan – Journal of Humanistic Psychology, 1972
Results of this research, while partially supportive of the general construct which the POI purports to measure, raises some questions about necessity of, or relevance of, the many scales of the inventory. (Authors/MB)

Hall, Charles E. – Journal of Experimental Education, 1971
A factor rotation scheme is presented which has a property that is interesting for examining factor-structure hypotheses. Given several clusters of tests the orthogonal bounds scheme produces factors which contains these clusters in some optimal sense. (Author)

Stankov, Lazar – Intelligence, 1980
Cluster analysis, applied to Carroll's cognitive theory, indicates that the obtained clusters make intuitive sense and imply that taxonomy is possible. Moreover, some clusters are similar to those suggested by other theories, especially the theory of fluid and crystallized intelligence. (Author/CP)

ten Berge, Jos M. F. – Psychometrika, 1979
Tucker's method of oblique congruence rotation is shown to be equivalent to a procedure by Meredith. This implies that Monte Carlo studies on congruence by Nesselroade, Baltes, and Labouvie and by Korth and Tucker are highly comparable. The problem of rotating two matrices orthogonally to maximal congruence is considered. (Author/CTM)

Silverstein, A. B. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1980
The intercorrelations among the 12 subtests of the WISC-R were analyzed for each of the 11 age groups in the standardization sample. Clusters were found that corresponded to the verbal and performance Scales. There was also some evidence of a third group of subtests, drawn from both scales. (Author/BW)

Zinbarg, Richard E.; Barlow, David H.; Brown, Timothy A. – Psychological Assessment, 1997
A hierarchical factor model of the Anxiety Sensitivity Index (ASI) (S. Reiss and others, 1986) was evaluated with 432 psychiatric outpatients and 32 people with no mental disorder. Results support a hierarchical factor structure of three lower order factors and one higher order factor. Implications for the assessment of anxiety sensitivity are…

Amir, Nader; Foa, Edna B.; Coles, Meredith E. – Psychological Assessment, 1997
The dimensions underlying the Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale (Y-BOCS) (W. Goodman and others, 1989) were examined by performing a confirmatory factor analysis of the scale using responses from 404 patients. Results support a two-factor model of obsessive-compulsive symptoms, reflecting degree of disturbance and severity of symptoms. (SLD)

Cook, Stephen W.; Heppner, P. Paul – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1997
The psychometric properties of three coping inventories are examined: (1) the Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations (N. Endler and J. Parker, 1994); (2) the COPE (C. Carver and others, 1989); and (3) the Coping Strategies Inventory (D. Tobin and others, 1989). Three general factors were found across the three instruments. (SLD)
