A study involving 541 female students, in four grade levels in an urban commercial secondary school is reported. It was concluded that individual and group counselling have distinctively different effects, and that these effects tend to last for extended periods (at least one year) without reinforcement. Describes an experiment comparing communication accuracy within and between various sign languages from different countries. Longer communications were generally more successful than shorter ones. Investigated the influence of dominance and friendship on behavior in a cooperative/competitive problem-solving situation among preschool peers. Controversy, an aspect of small-group interactions, was investigated in 10 mixed-ability, mixed-sex, elementary math groups through analysis of dissension episodes. Results showed that boys and higher-ability students had significantly more prevailing answers and demonstrations. (Author/LMO)

Examines the relationship between gender role and person-perception accuracy in face-to-face interactions between young adults and a young adult and a child.
