Bassin, Stanley L.; Breihan, Susan K. – Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1978
Participation in a 20-week program of specific motor activities (Frostig Move Grow Learn program) by 22 predominantly Mexican American children (6-8 years old) resulted in no significant improvement in the Ss' reading achievement. (CL)

Simon, J. Richard; Pouraghabagher, A. Reza – Journal of Gerontology, 1978
Two experiments were conducted to determine the effect of aging on encoding and response selection stages of a choice reaction time task. Results suggested reducing stimulus discriminability may affect information processing prior to the encoding stage, but the encoding stage is the primary locus of the slowing which accompanied aging. (Author)
Descriptors: Adults, Age Differences, Cognitive Processes, Geriatrics
Sage, George H.; Hornak, James E. – Research Quarterly, 1978
The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of progressive and gradually increasing speed practice on motor skill acquisition using the pursuit rotor. (JD)

Reviewed are resources to be used in developing programs to improve motor abilities among learning disabled children with severe motor dysfunction. (MH)
Descriptors: Elementary Secondary Education, Instructional Materials, Learning Disabilities, Perceptual Motor Learning

Fischer, Kurt W. – Child Development, 1987
The developmental pattern of concurrent synaptogenesis in rhesus monkeys is consistent with a straightforward model of relations between brain and cognitive development. Concurrent synaptogenesis is hypothesized to lay the primary cortical foundation for a series of developmental levels in middle infancy that have been empirically documented in…

Wolff, Peter – Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, 1972
Children from 4 to 7 years of age were tested in a structured perceptual task in which haptic manipulation was available, but not required. The extent of haptic involvement with the stimulus material and its effect on performance in a perceptual recognition task was then determined. (Author/CB)
