Multiple regression processes are employed to assess the effect of student age on preclinical medical school achievement in the context of eight other predictor variables. Results indicate that student age fails to contribute to the explanation of preclinical achievement after the influence of the other variables is taken into account. (Author/CM)

A study used a combination of cross-sectional and longitudinal designs to assess the variables of curriculum, intelligence, socioeconomic status, and Career Maturity Inventory scores. A specially designed Life Goals Scale was administered to 303 university students (200 women and 103 men) to assess the relative importance of life goals and relationships. Results indicate that university students place a high value on heterosexual relationships and are willing to sacrifice most other goals for the relationships. (AF)
