Administrators in higher education disclosed life style patterns for the "retirement period" from ages 65 to 75. Two contrasting patterns are described-Transformers and Maintainers. These groups reported differences in boyhood experiences, attitudes toward retirement, and choices of activity after age 65. (Author)

The graduate departments of adult education at 88 universities in the United States were surveyed for information pertinent to their programs in and about aging. Results show that 55 percent of the departments offer no courses dealing exclusively with education and aging. (Author)

Dahlgren, K. G. – Suicide and Life-Threatening Behavior, 1977
Most follow-up studies of suicides are made after a relatively short period of time. The present study involved 229 attempted suicides hospitalized during the years 1933-1942. The incidence of suicide long after the original attempt, at least in the case of the women, statistically exceeds the expected incidence. (Author)
