This study considers using the Inventory of Religious Activities of Interests and the extensive data for men associated therewith in the counseling of women who may be interested in entering occupations related to the Protestant Church. The Inventory differentiates among subgroups of men more effectively than it does among women. (Author)

The results showed that while college students have strong differences in their preferences, these differences are not stereotypically male or female. Overall, both male and female college students are primarily looking for jobs in which they can learn, accomplish something worthwhile, and work with friendly and congenial co-workers. (Author)

Subjects who value such job characteristics as "getting a felling of accomplishment, fair company policies, trying out their own ideas, doing work without feeling it is morally wrong, making their own decisions, (and) planning work with little supervision" tend to have higher aspirations and expectations, but lower goal deflection. Data gathered in interviews indicated that 29percent of the males and 18percent of the females were currently cohabiting. Family characteristics examined failed to differentiate between cohabiters and noncohabiters. A total of 440 adult couples were observed in eight different kinds of public places. Couples with children were observed to touch, talk, and smile less at one another. But children are disruptive of adult touching and talking, which means that couples with children experience reduced reward levels and less adequate communication. (Author)
