The Key Math Diagnostic Arithmetic Test was administered to 82 learning disabled adolescents. An analysis of the performance of these children revealed that mean LD performance peaked at approximately the fourth grade level of difficulty and there was marginal variation in performance across the 14 subtests. The study examines the role of conceptual tempo in creativity and problem solving. It was hypothesized that reflective children would do well on tasks involving evaluation components, while impulsive children would do well on typical creativity tasks. This research assesses the relative importance which adults in various age strata attach to dominant American values. Findings indicate older adults differ most from younger adults in the importance which they attach to personal values, particularly work, leisure, and achievement regardless of their social and economic situation. The study focuses on the relationship of life event stress and marital dysfunction. Couples in which one or both partners were receiving marital counseling had experienced a significantly greater amount of life stress events during the previous 12-month period than had couples who were not experiencing marital dysfunction. Measures of job stress and strain were obtained from 95 management level employees in an underground mine. In addition, 13 potential moderators of stress-strain relations were assessed. Findings indicated that such stresses had moderate to high relationships with the psychological strains of anxiety. (Author)
