The interaction processes of 25 couples receiving marriage counseling were compared with a control group of 25 couples not receiving counseling. This research evaluates why individuals seek out or avoid encounter groups. The most important reasons for participation include; self-understanding, overcoming specific problems and learning to express feelings. Reluctance may come from lack of trust and fear of losing control. (MFD)

Two methods of assessing co-curricular needs of college students were investigated. Results revealed substantial differences exist between the percentage of students who indicated a campus service was important to them in meeting a personal need and the percentage of students who actually intended to use the service in question. The two-year college-level performance of a group of older male veteran students was compared with the two-year performance of a group of younger male veteran students. The older students did better than the younger students on seven of the nine criteria analyzed. (Author)

An environmental assessment of ethnic minority students was performed using the College Student Questionnaire and the Environmental Satisfaction Questionnaire. The hypotheses of this study were that role-taking training would increase (1) role-taking skills and (2) relative amount of peer interaction as compared with adult interaction.
