Findings suggest that counselors who are highly congruent may be rigid personalities who see little need for change. In contrast, counselors with high discrepancies have poor self concepts and loftly ideals, both of which are unrealistic. A balance is suggested for persons who desire higher supervisor ratings. Investigated the adequacy of the Rathus Assertiveness Schedule (RAS) as a global measure of assertiveness. This reviews empirical studies of the clinical validity of MMPI short forms and discusses MMPI-168, not considered in Faschingbauer's earlier article.
